What is Neurosculpting®?
Neurosculpting® is a trademarked 5-step process of meditation and mental entrainment designed to enhance the brain’s natural neuroplasticity while helping to heal and rewrite deep stress patterns.  Train your brain with the 5-step Neurosculpting® process.  In more specific terms, Neurosculpting® was developed as a method to support self-directed neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to transform, through the union of neuroscience and meditation practices to aid in the down-regulation of chronic CNS (Central Nervous System) arousal states. Unique to the Neurosculpting® methodology is its methodical structure and intentional whole-brain engagement designed to support the management of stress through specific languaging, and simultaneously up-regulated focused attention through life practices including brain-specific nutrition.
The Neurosculpting® Institute, NSI, was born out of a life-long search for answers and practical approaches to dealing with personal transformation.  It brings together the principles of Neuro-leadership, the latest research regarding cognitive neuroscience, and the time-tested practices of mindfulness and meditation in a comprehensive left-right brain approach to better living.  For far too long we have lived in a segregated society of science vs. spirituality.  The Neurosculpting® Institute is the bridge of integration.  Imagine the benefits of your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical perceptions coming in to alignment.
Wherever stress levels act as disease agonists or inflammatory catalysts, Neurosculpting® has potential application.  Anecdotal evidence suggests Neurosculpting® Meditation to be an effective complementary addition to somatic-based psychotherapy practices significantly decreasing the time spent in therapy as measured in number of sessions and increasing the patient’s overall engagement in implementing home practices. Neurosculpting® is designed to be done without a facilitator once you’ve had some introductory instruction, thus increasing its economic sustainability for both institutions and individual users. Additional testimonial feedback has correlated a regular Neurosculpting® mental entrainment practice to the mitigation of anxiety and depression symptoms, mitigation of migraines, reduction in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder episodes, support for substance addiction, increased mobility with rheumatoid arthritis  and other chronic pain diseases, and even increased mobility in spinal cord injury.  You could give your brain an advantage with Neurosculpting brain training meditations.
The practice can be as simple as some daily meditations and mental exercises, and as comprehensive as a full life-plan to include nutrition, exercise, sleep, hygiene, and one-on-one support.
After completing approximately 150 hours of the training in Neurosculpting® with the Founder, Lisa Wimberger, I became certified.  Although I have incorporated various types of meditation in my clinical practice for many years, I have been facilitating Neurosculpting® Meditations with my patients upon request and when it is an appropriate tool to include in the therapy process. I have also taught Neurosculpting® classes that focus on the discoveries in neuroscience and how Neurosculpting® Meditations utilize that knowledge base to tap into the various parts of the brain and how those meditation modalities affect our autonomic systems on all levels of functioning.

  • My son with aspergers, PTSD and suicidal thoughts has been to many therapists, social workers and counselors. He's been prescribed multiple medications over many years. The only real help and support from any professional has come from Dr.Spiegel. I feel comfortable with him in the knowledge that he truly does put his patients first.
